Google Offers Hurricane Data Map

People and planet emergencies tend to cut through business models and vested interests, in combined efforts to rally relief and support. Hurricane Sandy drove Google, together with public and private organizations, to instantly launch grand scale hurricane information services, using their own databases, combined with open data. The result of the collaboration can be viewed here. The CKAN Open Data Foundation, set up a focus group for centralized hurricane related open data.
